Chroma's new 62000P series of programmable DC current supplies offer many unique features for ATE integration and testing. These features include a constant power operating range, accurate output current and voltage measurements, output trigger signals, and the ability to simulate complex DC transient waveforms for testing device transients, voltage rises, and other inter-voltage deviations. 62000P is the new standard for highly accurate programmable DC power supplies designed for automated testing of D2D converters and other similar products.
The 62000P series consists of 12 different models ranging from 600W to 5000W and 120A to 600V. The number of DC power supplies required for a typical ATE application can be reduced because a single instrument can provide a constant power operating range of both high voltage/low current and low voltage/high current. 62000P series also features an accurate voltage and current readback function with a high resolution of 16 bit, which means that the system no longer needs to be complicated with additional shunts/voltmeters to measure accurate readings of the input parameters to be measured. The 62000P series also features 16 bit high resolution accurate voltage and current readback, which means that systems no longer need the complexity of additional shunts/voltmeters to measure accurate input parameter readings of the object to be measured. 62000P power supplies also feature I/O ports for 8 bit TTLs, DC-ON, protection output signals, remote inhibit functions, and output trigger signals for system timing measurements.
Another unique feature of the 62000P series power supplies is the ability to create complex DC transient waveforms. This feature allows testing of equipment for input voltage leakage transients and other voltage variations, and is ideal for testing aircraft equipment, reverse converters, and other equipment that generates voltage interruptions. Applications include DC/DC converters and inverters, voltage drop testing, engine start simulation, automatic battery charging, electronic product life cycle testing, and more.

The 62000P series DC power supplies offer a wide range of operation. For example, the 62012P-80-60 has an output rating of 1200W/80V/60A and can be operated flexibly in different combinations as shown on the right side of the figure. While a normal DC power supply is shown to provide the same current rating for all output voltages, the 62000P provides a higher current rating at lower output voltages. This means that both low voltage/high current and high voltage/low current objects to be tested can be tested for input stability using a single DC power supply, avoiding the need for multiple DC power supplies within a typical ATE system to save cost and space. |
Programming Sequence Functions and Applications
The 62000P Series DC Power Supplies offer 100 step, user programmable sequences with time setpoints ranging from 5ms to 15000s, voltage and current ramp control and 8 bit TTL signal outputs for automated test applications. Applications include voltage drop testing of DC/DC converters and inverters, engine startup simulation, automatic battery charging, product life cycle testing, and aircraft aviation testing.
