12-bit ADC for clear waveform details

SDS3000X HD series oscilloscopes all adopt 12-bit high-resolution ADC with quantization level up to 4096, and the resolution can be increased to 16-bit in high-resolution mode (ERES), which, together with the vertical & horizontal zoom function, helps users observe the details of the waveforms in a more complete and clearer way. For example, when analyzing an LLC half-bridge converter circuit, it is necessary to observe the dead time between the drive signals of the upper and lower tubes through the waveform, and the details of the waveform restored by the 12-bit oscilloscope are much clearer than that of the 8-bit oscilloscope.

ENOB - Effective and True ADC Bits

When a high-speed ADC performs data acquisition, the signal-to-noise-to-distortion ratio of the actual ADC falls short of the desired performance that its nominal bits should achieve due to noise and distortion. In general, the higher the oscilloscope bandwidth, the higher its internal noise. This is because high-frequency noise enters the high-bandwidth oscilloscope. Since the ADC is only a part of the oscilloscope system and cannot be used independently, the ENOB index of the whole oscilloscope system will be more meaningful.SDS3000X HD is up to 8.3-8.6-bit, with smaller time error and frequency spuriousness, as well as lower broadband noise, which can effectively ensure the accuracy of measurement.

Rich Trigger Functions

SDS3000X HD series oscilloscopes provide a wealth of trigger types, including edge, interval, timeout, video, serial bus, area trigger, etc. Among them, area trigger is different from the traditional trigger, which can be applied to episodic signals whose parameter characteristics are still unclear, and the signal capture can be completed by creating and defining an area using only the mouse or touch. Bus trigger supports I2C, SPI, CAN, CAN FD, FlexRay, I2S, MIL-STD-1553B, SENT and other buses, providing test solutions for embedded, automotive, computer and other serial buses.

Template testing for efficient evaluation of signal quality

The template test function is mainly used for signal quality assessment, which can monitor the failure rate of waveforms for a long time and locate the causes according to the faulty waveforms. There are two ways to set rules, one is to create rules by drawing polygonal templates in the oscilloscope, the other is to create rules by setting horizontal and vertical values according to the "Perfect Waveform", and then the oscilloscope conducts real-time testing of the waveforms, and it can count the number of times of testing, number of times of failures, and failure rate within the specified testing conditions, and it can also set the "Store Failure Frames", and the failed waveforms can be viewed in history mode. Power supply analysis to quickly get power supply parameters
