What are the main types of spectrum analyzers?

common problems 9870

There are two main types of spectrum analyzers: sweep tuning analyzers and real-time analyzers. Modern spectrum analyzers use digital signal processing to provide more measurement capabilities, making it easier for you to interpret your measurements. Whether it's a swept-tuning analyzer or a real-time spectrum analyzer, they both display the change in amplitude with frequency. But how exactly does each analyzer process and display this information? A real-time spectrum analyzer displays the energy of all frequency components simultaneously. A swept-tuned spectrum analyzer displays measurements sequentially, in other words, it does not measure in "real time". This is because a swept-tuned analyzer uses a narrow filter that is tuned over a range of frequencies to produce the spectrum display.

  • What is an oscilloscope?

    933

An oscilloscope is a test instrument used to capture and display a graph of the waveform of an electrical signal over time. For example, it can graph voltage (y-axis) versus time (x-axis) on its display. Oscilloscopes are powerful tools for designing and testing electronic equipment. They play a very important role in determining whether system equipment components are working properly and which components are malfunctioning. They...

  • What is the difference between a DC power supply and an AC power supply?

    922

Alternating current is suitable for transmission and distribution of electricity over long distances through the grid system. Direct current is a one-way flow of charge and is more reliable than alternating current, but is not suitable for long-distance transmission. Most electronic devices use DC because their voltage is constant, such as devices powered by batteries. Some devices also use rectifiers to convert AC to DC. Power supplies usually have an internal...

  • What are the different types of oscilloscopes?

    1102

All modern oscilloscopes are digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs) that use digital signal processing to capture and display analog signals. If the oscilloscope has the ability to observe these signals simultaneously in the digital domain, it is a mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO). If the oscilloscope has a built-in spectrum analyzer function, it is a mixed-domain oscilloscope (MDO), although this term is less common. ,,...

  • How to use the impedance tester

    979

In this article, we will describe the basic measurements of an impedance analyzer. Overview An impedance tester is an instrument used to measure AC resistance or impedance. This article will introduce the basic knowledge about impedance, the measurement method of impedance, and how to use the impedance tester. What is impedance? What is impedance? In short, it is "a quantity that indicates the difficulty of the flow of alternating current". ...
