Product Overview: Fluke NORMA 5000 High Accuracy Power Analyzer

Fluke Norma Power Meters|Power Analyzers: Reliable, Highly Accurate Measurement Tools for Power Electronics Test and Development

The compact Fluke Norma series of power detection analyzers/power meters offers new measurement techniques to help engineers involved in the development and testing of motors, inverters, lighting, power supplies, transformers and automotive parts make their products more productive.

The Fluke Norma Series Power Detection Analyzers/Power Meters feature a high-bandwidth architecture that enables precision measurements of single-phase or three-phase currents and voltages, harmonic analysis, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis, and the calculation of power and other calculated values.

This power detector/power meter series includes the Fluke Norma 4000 three-phase power analyzer and the Fluke Norma 5000 six-phase power detection analyzer/power meter. These rugged, high-precision power detection analyzers/power meters offer a good price/performance ratio and are convenient and reliable for use either in the field or as benchtop instruments in the lab or on the test bench.

Applications:

  • Power Detection and Analysis for Electric Motors and Inverter Drive Systems - The Power Meter accurately measures switching losses caused by inverters through exhaustive spectral analysis and dynamic torque calculations, and is capable of comprehensively evaluating torque transients and harmonics at high frequencies.
  • Inverter Drive System Power Detection and Analysis - The Power Meter measures all electrical and mechanical power parameters within the same event window simultaneously, allowing the user to observe the effect of one component on another, or its effect on the entire system.
  • Lighting System Power Detection and Analysis - With a bandwidth of up to 10 MHz and a high sampling rate of up to 1 MHz, the Power Meter analyzes the rectifier output signal in detail. The shunt technology enables power detection at very high frequencies. At the same time, the ability to measure input and output power provides rectifier loss calculation capability.
  • Transformer Power Measurement and Analysis - The power meter measures 6-phase power synchronously, calculates the efficiency and losses of high-power transformers with high accuracy even at very low power factors, and is also able to measure the resistance of multi-phase transformer coils synchronously.
  • Automotive Power Detection and Analysis - Power meters measure electrical inputs and mechanical outputs simultaneously, providing data on the efficiency and losses of individual parts as well as the entire drive system.
