How does a spectrum analyzer work?

common problems 6590

A signal that looks very complex in the time domain behaves quite differently in the frequency domain. Time domain measurements show an impure sine wave. Without frequency domain measurements, it is still impossible to know the source and frequency of the second harmonic. Spectral analysis can show the spectral components individually, thus revealing the source of the interference. While the information provided by the time domain (such as the rise and fall times of signal pulses) is important, the frequency domain allows you to determine the harmonic content of the signal, such as out-of-band emissions and distortion. • How does a vector network analyzer work?

    546

A network analyzer consists of a signal source and a receiver. The receiver will detect changes in the output signal of the device (or network) and then compare it to the source signal fed into the device. To evaluate the effect of the device on current and voltage, the VNA measures the resulting amplitude and phase response. This results in transmission and reflection measurements, impedance and s-parameters, which can be used by the test engineer to...

  • How does a DC power supply work?

    469

A DC power supply converts alternating current (AC) electricity to DC electricity either by a linear method or a switching method. Switching power supplies are more efficient, lighter in weight and smaller in form factor. Linear power supplies can achieve lower noise, but this is no longer an advantage with modern switching power supplies. ,

  • What are the advantages of Trueform technology?

    558

Its advantages include: Ultra-low jitterTrueform function/arbitrary waveform generators have jitter as low as 1 ps and excellent edge stability. You can even use them as system clocks for timing and triggering other instruments. Thanks to better jitter performance, you can locate edges more accurately, which helps reduce timing errors in circuit design. Ultra-low...

  • What is the frequency of electricity?

    604

What does the frequency of electricity mean? Here are the basics of frequency, regionality, and measurement Since electricity and voltage are invisible things, many people will think they are elusive. But in fact, they are only invisible, and it is not difficult to understand them. Below, we will introduce the frequency basis of electricity and voltage in an easy-to-understand way, regional differences in frequency, and how...
