Products
The current global market requirement for AC power input testing is to be able to simulate a wider range of power fluctuations, which means more advanced and high performance AC power supplies are needed. The Chroma 61500 series of programmable AC power supplies is the solution to meet this market demand, providing the ability to simulate a wide range of normal and abnormal AC power input conditions, and to measure important parameters of the product under test. These features make the 61500 series suitable for commercial, power electronics, avionics and other fields, R&D and quality assurance units for specification verification to laboratory testing, as well as factory production lines and other test applications.
Chroma 61500 series products through the PWM high-frequency switching technology, all models can output a very pure sine wave, which can be less than 0.3% total harmonic distortion rate at 50Hz/60Hz full load output; in addition, it can also provide precise measurement functions, such as RMS voltage, RMS current, real power, power factor, current crest factor, etc.; through advanced DSP technology to realize LIST, PULSE and STEP editing functions, it can easily simulate the test of AC power disturbance (PLD); 61500 series can also allow users to combine different harmonic disturbances (PLD) test. Advanced DSP technology to achieve LIST, PULSE and STEP editing functions, can easily simulate the AC power disturbances (PLD) of the test; 61500 series can also allow users to combine different harmonic components to synthesize a variety of harmonics and distortion waveforms, through this advanced features, users can be in addition to the fundamental wave, program another voltage to do frequency variation scanning, in order to find out the resonance of the object to be measured and provide more in-depth analysis results.
In the simulation of the actual waveform part, Chroma 61500 series provide external signal input function, used to amplify the arbitrary signal generator generated by the analog signal, so users can use this function to replicate any special waveforms observed in the place; In addition, a simple human-machine interface allows users to quickly understand the functions of the various models of AC power supplies through the LCD display and the operating interface. Or through interfaces such as GPIB (IEEE488.2), RS-232, USB and Ethernet for remote control.
Multi-function Measurement
Chroma 61500 series programmable AC power supply has built-in 16bit analog/digital converter measurement line, with fast computing firmware, it can provide a variety of parameters, including real RMS voltage, RMS current, real power, power factor, VA (apparent power), peak current, crest factor, and so on; through the advanced DSP technology, Chroma 61500 series can measure the output total harmonic distortion (THD) and multi-order current harmonic components. With advanced DSP technology, Chroma 61500 series products can measure the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the output and multi-order current harmonic components, and directly display the output voltage and current waveforms through the screen with Waveform Viewer function.

Input power disturbance simulation
In addition to providing stable output voltage and frequency, the Chroma 61500 series provides powerful features to simulate various input power disturbances. The STEP and PULSE modes provide a simple and convenient way to perform single-step or continuous voltage variations that can be triggered by an internal or external event. This feature is often used to simulate power disturbances such as periodic dips, instantaneous high voltage, voltage dips, etc. The LIST mode expands the waveform editing capabilities to meet more complex test voltage waveforms. The LIST mode is composed of 100 sequences of individually programmable start and end states, and the editable waveform components can include both AC and DC, so that virtually any desired signal waveform can be composed. Using these waveform modes, the Chroma 61500 series can simulate a variety of voltage dips, interruptions, and variations, and at the same time comply with IEC 61000-4-11 (pre-certification testing) and IEC 61000-4-13, IEC 61000-4-14, and IEC 61000-4-28 regulatory testing.

In addition, the Chroma 61500 series can simulate IEC 61000-4-29* Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)-Part 4-29: Testing and measurement techniques- Voltage dips, short interruptions and voltage variations on dc input power port immunity tests. In addition the Chroma 61500 series can simulate the IEC 61000-4-29* Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 4-29: Testing and measurement techniques - Voltage dips, short interruptions and voltage variations on dc input power port immunity tests for the dc voltage dips, short interruptions and voltage variations test conditions (%UT) in the table below.

Voltage and frequency variation setting
The Chroma 61500 series programmable AC power supply allows users to set the rate of change of output voltage or frequency, and when the output voltage or frequency changes, it will gradually reach the final value according to the set rate of change. This helps the user to verify the operating range of the product, for example, the frequency can be set to gradually increase from 47Hz to 63Hz, or the voltage from 90V to 264V, instead of only verifying the input 90V, 115V, 230V and 264V voltage points. In addition, when the object to be tested is turned on, the voltage is gradually increased from 0V to reduce the inrush current of the input, which can be applied to the startup of the motor or the simultaneous power-on test of several products.

Waveform distortion simulation of the input power supply
Traditional AC voltage sources can only provide sinusoidal waveforms for testing, but nowadays there are more and more requirements to simulate the distortion waveforms under abnormal input voltage conditions. The Chroma 61500 series provides WAVEFORM SELECTION function that allows users to set up triangle waveforms, clamped sine waveforms, and 30 sets of built-in distortion waveforms, as well as 30 sets of user-defined waveforms that can be deposited by the computer.
In addition, Chroma 61500 series of products with SYNTHESIS (synthesis) function, allowing users to 50Hz or 60Hz fundamental frequency to set the harmonic components of multiple orders, the formation of periodic distortion waveforms; in addition, 61500 series of products also provides INTERHAR (interharmonic) function, used in addition to the fundamental frequency to set up another non-harmonic variation of the frequency components. Scanning from 0.01Hz to 2400Hz can help to find the resonance point of the input of the object to be measured or the vulnerability of the anti-interference point. With the above features, the 61500 series can output distorted waveforms of periodic harmonics and non-periodic interharmonics to complete the IEC 61000-4-13 compliance immunity test.

Single-phase/three-phase voltage output mode
Chroma 61507/61508/61509 and 61511/61512 models provide single-phase or three-phase output function, which allows users to select single-phase or three-phase output modes via front panel or remote control. Even when set in single-phase output mode, they can still provide full power output capability without worrying about decreasing output power specifications.

Model 61501/61502/61503/61504/61505 can be used with three single units, which can be connected in series to produce three-phase power output under the synchronization mechanism of three-phase mode.

Chroma 61500 series programmable AC power supplies can be connected in parallel via (Master/Slave) output mode to achieve the user's high power requirements. Among them, 61501/61502/61503/61504/61505 models do not provide parallel function; 61507/61508/61509 models with the same power series models (i.e., 61507/61508/61509/61607/61608/61609) with each other and can be paralleled to a maximum number of units for 2 units; in order to meet the needs of greater power, the 61509 and 61609 can be paralleled for 2 units. In order to meet the demand for greater power, 61509 and 61609 and other 6kVA models can be further up to 3 to 5 single (Master/Slave) parallel connection, and the two models can be mixed and matched to achieve 18kVA, 24kVA, 30kVA and other high-power output function. (3kVA, 4.5kVA models do not support more than three parallel function) |
The 61511/61512 models can be combined with the same series models (i.e. 61511/61512/61611/61612) and the 18kVA parallel specialized unit (A615103), and the maximum number of units can be connected in parallel is 5 units. For example: Connect two 61511 12kVA AC units in parallel mode to achieve 24KVA output power; connect one 61512 18kVA AC unit and two A615103 18kVA paralleling special units in parallel mode to achieve 54KVA output power.
