The IT7900EP series incorporates three devices. Users can choose to use the IT7900EP as a grid simulator with the full functionality of a programmable AC power supply, or as a feed-back AC/DC load, directly from the instrument panel.
Four Quadrant Output Characteristics
The IT7900EP series is not only a full 4-quadrant grid simulator, but also a full 4-quadrant AC/DC electronic load, capable of operating in all 4 quadrants, with good bi-directional capability to extend the simulation range of the traditional equipment which only has 2 quadrants. Combined with the efficient energy return function, it is suitable for testing grid-connected products such as grid-connected photovoltaic inverters for frequency variations, voltage transients and anti-islanding tests.
Efficient energy return
The IT7900EP provides efficient energy return in both AC and DC modes, whether used as a grid simulator or as a load. The energy generated by the object to be tested can be recovered by the IT7900EP and utilized within the plant rather than consumed as heat, providing users with a "green" solution.

Analog utility reproduction and low voltage ride-through (LVRT) testing
Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) is the ability of a power generation system to continue to operate without disconnecting from the grid within a certain voltage drop when a voltage drop is caused by a grid fault or disturbance, and even provide a certain amount of reactive power to the system to help restore the system voltage.The IT7900EP series can be edited to meet the test conditions of Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT), and with its fast response speed, it can meet the LVRT test requirements fully. Meanwhile, the IT7900EP series is equipped with an arbitrary waveform function, and with the LIST function, it can be edited through the panel or programmable software to simulate a variety of grid disturbance waveforms, such as instantaneous dropouts, surges, and slow rises and dips in voltage.
