What is an AC power supply?

common problems 5890

An AC power supply is responsible for providing AC power to the load. The power input can be either AC or DC. You need an AC power supply because the power from the wall outlet does not meet the specifications of the load. In order for the load to operate properly, you need to transform the AC power supply to tune the AC power from the supply to the voltage, current, and frequency required by the device. This can be accomplished by raising or lowering the voltage and then filtering the signal.

You can use an AC power supply for testing. The AC power supply can emulate grid outages, harmonics, surges, or other events that may cause the device under test (DUT) to fail.
